NLRB Rules against Student Unions at Private Schools

While not directly related to health care, the National Labor Relations Board recently ruled that graduate students at private universities cannot Unionize. Given that student unions have often based their unionization efforts on demands for better health care and used their ability to bargain collectively to secure health care for all students, this decision has important implications for any group of students fighting for better health care.

Info about the ruling can be found at the NYTimes (registration required) or the Boston Globe.

This is a story worth watching in the future.
